Hi y’all! This week’s post is a day late because I thought everyone would be a little busy yesterday with it being Halloween. This week’s post is about my favorite TV shows that I have been watching recently. I skipped the super well-known ones because do I really need to convince you to watch Law & Order: SVU, Handmaid’s Tale, or Stranger Things?? I hope not! The shows I am sharing today are not as publicized, except for few just in case you have been living under a rock or something. My favorite genre of TV shows has to be drama, followed by comedy, and ending with suspense/thriller. Each of the shows I am recommending I have completed unless the series is still ongoing or the newest season recently came out. Be sure to let me know in the comments if you have seen any of these!
TV Shows I Love/Have Loved
Younger (TVLand, catch up on HULU): 1. Hilary Duff is in it…That is all I need to say… Just kidding but really! This show is so good and I really like the plot! Each episode is only 30 minutes so even though there are five seasons, it is really easy to get through all of the seasons that are currently out. The drama is a little clichè, but I love it!
The Resident (Fox, currently on Season 2): I love a good doctor show as much as the next lady, and this one is a good one! I love the main characters and their stories! Each episode has its own drama which I love! Season two just started this fall and so far so good! I highly recommend it!
A Million Little Things (ABC, Season 1 premiered this Fall): This show makes me cry almost every episode! It is so crazy to see how one person can truly impact many people’s lives, and how many lives can be connected. So far I am caught up to episode 4 (just realized I missed episode 5 this week). This is a great drama to add to your TV lineup, and if you have not tried it yet you should!
Parenthood (Netflix via NBC, series over): I watched all six seasons of parenthood in less than a month which for me was pretty fast. I absolutely LOVED it! The Dad/Grandpa Zeke reminds me so much of my Dad and the whole family reminds me of mine! It is such a good show that will make you laugh and cry. I would recommend it to anyone seriously! I am so sad that it is over! The whole series flows together so well and I never got bored with any of the episodes! The writing is great and the show is very relatable! I do not want to ruin anything, but there is plenty of drama as the years progress and you get to watch the family grow and expand. I am obsessed with this family and will forever be on Team Braverman.
Insatiable (Netflix, renewed for Season 2 but not out): This show is HILARIOUS! It is also a little cheesy but it has a lot of drama that is super outrageous. It is a great show to watch with your friends! I watched all of Season 1 in two days… do not judge me. This is a great show for when you are looking to laugh and not have to think too much if that makes sense? A must watch if you love a good comedic drama!
Riverdale (CW, currently on Season 3): Okay, do not roll your eyes at this one! Riverdale is seriously so good! I will say the first season is probably my favorite, but I am interested in seeing where this next season will go. I love all of the drama and the twists and turns that are abundant in this series. The entire cast is also pretty attractive which makes this show a fun one to watch. I know plenty of adults who enjoy this show as well and did not realize it was aimed at teens and young adults before they started watching. I highly recommend that you check it out!
Ozark (Netflix, Season 2 just released): Season 1 was so good! I have not watched Season 2 yet because I have been finishing up other series first. This show has plenty of drama and action! It is also suspenseful and a little dark. If you like a gritty story with a lot of crime and drama, this one is for you!
Peaky Blinders (Netflix, season 5 coming in 2019): This one might surprise you, but if you know me you know I LOVE action! Action movies and TV shows are some of my favorite and this one has a lot of drama in it too! It was recommended to me and at first, I had no clue what to expect but basically, it is about gangsters in England in the early 1900’s. I have not finished it yet but I am on season 4 and it has been really good!
Making a Murderer (Netflix, Season 2 just released) This show is a documentary which is usually not my thing but this one is riveting! I will be highly surprised if any of you have never heard of it, but since docs are not usually my thing and I made it through this one super fast, I decided it had to go on my list! There is a lot of drama in this documentary and it is crazy that it is all true! Watch the whole thing and decide if you think Steven is innocent or guilty.
I would love to know if you have seen any of these shows! If so, which show is your favorite? Do you have any recommendations for me?
Thank you SO much for reading!
